A Key Part of Any Fire Protection Plan
Interior furnishings are the number one contributing factor to the swift spread of fire and smoke within a home. They also contribute to the phenomenon known as "flashover," in which the air within a structure becomes superheated, causing everything within the vicinity of the fire to explode into flames. Flashover is not survivable by occupants, and is dangerous to even protected firefighters. Any fire safety plan should therefore include protection of your interior furnishings from the spread of flames.

Helps Prevent Fires from Starting and Spreading
Independently tested to quality control and efficacy standards developed by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) and the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), Fabric Fire Gard is a liquid fire retardant coating that has met the approval of the California State Fire Marshal's Office under Registration C-215.01.

Once sprayed on either natural or synthetic fibers, Fabric Fire Gard can slow down a fire's progress. In many cases it will not allow the interior furnishings to ignite at all, thereby significantly reducing the spread of an existing fire. Use it on curtains and draperies, fabrics, crafts, non-leather natural and synthetic upholstery, theatrical curtains, stuffed toys, potholders, decorative pillows, and more.

Safe, Effective, and Eco-Friendly
Fabric Fire Gard is very easy to use and can be quickly applied by following the directions on the bottle. Safe to use around children and pets, it's also eco-friendly, completely non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, has zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and will generally not alter the look or feel of the fabric on which it's applied.

I tested a scrap of fabric and was amazed at how it refused to catch on fire! I used this product on all the curtains in our counseling center!

I purchased this product when constructing homemade acoustic absorption "panels" using jute and burlap coffee bean bags filled with a sound absorption mat. As a rough test of its ability, I attempted to ignite one of the bags with a directed flame source for about 10 seconds, without success. This product has definitely eased my concerns about using jute "art" panels in my home studio.
